Located in historic downtown Phoenix Encanto neighborhood, this project began with an entire demo and removal of the sad and tired landscape that existed for years. Demo of a large concrete and tile patio with raised red brick planters, existing plants. Access to this project was through the alley gate only.

Working in this historic district, our design implementation was to create an oasis and outdoor environment that tied in seamlessly with the existing architecture of this historic home. Matching stain colors and using salvaged brick from the demo, we tied in the shade structure and sun shades that were attached by hanging them to the house.

The lawn is irrigated with subterranean irrigation system to avoid dogs and lawnmowers chewing up sprinkler heads. Raised garden beds and pots for the homeowners to grow were custom built, along with the ramada. We added a wall fountain next to the ramada, with downlighting and a ceiling fan, along with matching downlighting and custom wood structure that spans the bbq.

The plant palette is simple and clean, and reflects the style of the neighborhood and home. Custom steel trellises were also fabricated along with over-the-window shade eaves.
